Chelsea Marie Fuselier

Pine Prairie-Chelsea M. Fuselier, 86, passed away in Prairie Manor Nursing Home Monday, July 29, 2013.

 She was born in Beaver Creek on October 18, 1926 to Frank and Mary McDaniel Wessel. Ms. Fuselier was a lifetime member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church. She was employed as a CNA for 22 years. Spending time with her family and helping others brought joy to her life. Her outgoing nature will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Ronald Fuselier of Pine Prairie; daughters, Jo Ann Doyle and husband, Carl “Manny” of Iowa, Rose Mary Ardoin and husband, John V. of Ville Platte,  Linda Eastwood of Pine Prairie, and Brenda Fuselier of Pine Prairie; 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and cousin, Curtis McDaniel. She is preceded in death by her spouse, Howard Fuselier, Sr.; sons, Howard Fuselier, Jr., Frank Malcolm Fuselier, Jimmy Fuselier and Frank Allen Fuselier; sisters, Lillian Roth and Mary Frances.

Funeral services will be in Beaver Creek Baptist Church in Pine Prairie on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Bros. David Plunkett and Alton Hodnett officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Creek Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home. Visitation will begin Tuesday in Beaver Creek Baptist Church from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and continue from 9: 00 a.m. until the time of service.

Ellen Mae Miller

 

Lake Charles- Ellen Mae Miller, 75, passed away in a local care facility Thursday, July 25, 2013.

Ellen was the daughter of the late Claude C. and Theresa Hebert Miller. She was born May 25, 1938 in Iowa.  She attended Lacassine High and was a graduate of Sowela as a LPN. Ellen was employed for many years as a surgical nurse with St. Patrick Hospital and worked for the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home in Monroe. She was a longtime member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving brothers and sisters, Nolan Miller and spouse, Shirley, Otis J. Miller and spouse, Helen, Vurtis “Pop” Miller, all of Woodlawn; Dolores M. Hagan of Lake Charles and Jeanette M. Perrin and spouse, Earl of Iowa. Ellen also leaves her memory with her many nieces and nephews who lovingly called her “Nonnie.” She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Wilton T. Miller, J. C. Miller, F. Donald Miller and Elaine M. Guthrey.

Funeral services are Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.  in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Dore` Langley officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home. Visitation begins today,  Friday, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home and continues Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Lake Charles- Kevin Matt, 56, passed away in a local hospital Friday, July 19, 2013.

He was employed as a truck driver for many years.

Visitation is Monday, July 22, 2013 in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at which time a rosary will be said. Graveside services will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home.

Kevin is survived by his son, Kevin Matt of Westlake; father, Nelson Joseph Matt of Lake Charles; brothers, Estel Matt and wife, Judy of Lake Charles, Patrick Matt and wife, Shari of Woodlawn, Marvin Matt and wife, Dina of Iowa, Marty Matt and wife, Caroline of Iowa, Jairus Matt and wife, Belinda of Lake Charles, Michael Matt and wife, Theresa of Lake Charles; sisters, Pam Molitor and husband, Roy of Sulphur, Roxanne Strealy of Lacassine, Mary Lyons and husband, Lance of Lake Charles, Tracey Breaux and husband, Jason of Lake Charles; grandson, Grayson Matt and 1 on the way. He is preceded in death by his mother, Bernadine Mouton Matt.
