Daniel Charles Broussard
Iowa-Daniel Broussard, 74, passed away January 23, 2014.
Born in Lafayette on July 13, 1939, he was the son of the late Joseph Clyde and Lucille (Boudreaux) Broussard. Daniel attended Bishop Burne High School in Po...rt Arthur and was a graduate of the Community College of the Air Force where he studied electronics and studied languages at the University of Maryland. He was a US Air Force veteran. He retired from IBM after 30 years. His civic duties included the Lions Club of DeRidder, he was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, and he was a member of Our Lady of Seven Dolores Catholic Church. Daniel loved to work with his hands and he could fix anything. He was known as the “troubleshooter”; solving puzzles and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mary Jo Broussard of Iowa; sons, Kemon Broussard and wife, Trudy of Dallas, Oregon and David Broussard and wife, Susan of DeRidder; daughters, Kathy Weibel-Aymond and husband, Mike of Lake Charles and Maria Kamrowski and husband, Roger of Iowa; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; Aunt Dolly Trappey of Lafayette; cousins, Corrine Davisdson, Patrick and Fritze Trappey, all of Lafayette and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Charles Daniel Broussard, Jr.; brothers, JC, Johnny and Mark Broussard as well as a sister, Loretta Broussard Riley.
Services will be at Johnson & Brown Funeral Home on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 1 p.m. with Father Roland Vaughn officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Cremation is entrusted to Johnson & Brown Funeral Home.
